About Clarity-GMS

Clarity-GMS was created by Chris Fisher, who has run Clayton Park Garage — an independent garage in Clayton-le-Moors, Accrington — since 2015. Running the garage on an Outlook calendar and then on TechMan, he found that no commercially available garage management system did what he expected a GMS to do: run bookings, MOT reminders, digital inspections, parts ordering and customer communication in one place, at a predictable price.

What decided it was the gap between what was promised and what was delivered. In his experience, TechMan's advertised Xero integration meant exporting Xero-formatted CSV files and re-uploading them periodically, on a dated, page-reload-based interface — not the live, always-on sync he expected of modern software.

He began building Clarity-GMS in 2025 to run his own workshop, and opened it to other garages in 2026. The system is developed in the UK and is still shaped by daily use in a working garage.

Chris is a process-systems specialist and software entrepreneur, and Clarity-GMS is one of several systems he has built for the motor trade.
